Schiller Park is a dense, working-class suburb tucked just north of O'Hare International Airport along the Des Plaines River. The housing stock here leans heavily toward mid-century ranch homes and two-flats built in the 1950s and 1960s. Those homes have character, but they also come with aging bathrooms, unfinished basements, and layouts that weren't built with accessibility in mind. That's exactly where we do our best work. The village boundaries run tight, and most lots are modest in size, so additions and remodels here require contractors who can plan smart and work efficiently in close quarters.
The climate in Schiller Park hits hard on older homes. Winters push well below freezing, and the freeze-thaw cycles that come with a Cook County spring do real damage to tile grout, basement walls, and bathroom fixtures over time. Summers bring humidity that accelerates mold growth in poorly ventilated bathrooms and unfinished basement spaces. Homeowners here aren't dealing with hypothetical problems. They're dealing with cracked tile, water intrusion, and outdated layouts that make daily life harder than it needs to be. A well-executed remodel isn't cosmetic. It protects the house.
