Niles sits just north of Chicago along the Milwaukee Avenue corridor, bordered by Skokie to the east and Morton Grove to the south. The village has a strong mix of post-war ranch homes, split-levels, and brick bungalows that were built in the 1950s and 1960s. Those homes have good bones, but they need updates. Bathrooms are often original. Basements are unfinished. Kitchens feel dated. That's exactly where we come in.
The climate here hits hard on older homes. Winters along the lakefront plain bring freeze-thaw cycles that stress foundations and tile work. Summers are humid, and that moisture finds its way into basements and poorly sealed bathrooms. Niles has a notably large older adult population, which means a lot of families are also thinking about aging-in-place modifications, grab bars, walk-in showers, and layouts that work long-term. We see all of this every week on job sites in the village.
